Job summary

Generac is seeking an Assembler I to perform assembly work to manufacture products in a cost-effective and timely manner, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The role requires validating materials, reviewing work instructions, and building products to specifications with proper PPE usage.

Shifts are 5:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday, with overtime Fridays 5:30am-1:30pm as needed; pay rate is $18.10 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of complex assembly or related experience.
• 2 years of complex assembly or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions, schematics, and assembly equipment to build products safely.
• Cross-train across assembly areas as needed.
• Develop understanding of products and how they impact the business.
• Continuously learn new practices and processes as changes occur.
• Participate in team meetings to share job-related information.
• Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors.

Job Summary

The Assembler I is responsible for performing assembly work to manufacture products in a cost effective and timely manner while fulfilling quality standards. The Assembler I will validate material prior to beginning assembly, review work instructions, build product per specifications and within tolerances, complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations including wearing all appropriate PPE.

Responsibilities

• Uses work instructions drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment to perform assembly while complying with safe and effective operation standards of all equipment and tools.
• Cross trains in multiple assembly areas and flex to other similar departments based on business needs.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the products they assemble and how they impact the business.
• Continuous learning of the principles, practices, and processes of their job as changes require and similar jobs.
• Participate in team meetings to exchange job related information.
• Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on the level and complexity.
• Provide basic training to employees on work instructions/standard work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

ASSEMBLY I:

• Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Assembly Ii

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1 year of complex assembly or related experience
• Internal: Demonstrated Assembler II competency

Assembly Iii

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of complex assembly or related experience
• Internal: Demonstrated Assembler III competency & High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
