About the Position
Under the supervision of the Department Production Supervisor and in cooperation with the Team Leader, you will safely perform various tasks to assemble, fit, and join components in the production of heavy and large mechanical products. This involves working according to specifications and production schedules, making independent decisions with minimal supervision based on provided instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Properly use tools to make or repair parts and products.
- Collaborate with team members to assemble products.
- Follow all safety requirements of the company and industry standards.
- Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and instructions accurately.
- Identify defective items and handle them according to established procedures.
Additional Activities & Responsibilities
- Assemble component parts, machined parts, and subassemblies used in manufacturing concrete batch systems.
- Utilize various hand tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic tools, and precision measuring instruments for assembly.
- Remove burrs and rough spots from parts using hand files, hone stones, or pneumatic grinders.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move parts and assemble large components.
- Perform minor adjustments, repairs, or setups on equipment or machines under supervision.
- Maintain safety standards and report issues immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may include basic welding, washing, priming, and painting of components or assemblies.
Qualifications & Competencies
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 0-2 years of heavy equipment manufacturing experience desired.
- Knowledge of mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Trade school or college coursework relevant to the role is a plus.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts upon certification.
- Computer literacy, particularly with mouse use and file management.
- Dependability, dedication, and effective time management.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability to new challenges.
- Ability to work independently with instructions and collaboratively within a team.
- Clear communication skills to express needs and ask questions.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and meet production deadlines.
