Job Title: Assembler

Reports To: Production Supervisor

General Description:

The Assembler/Installer position is responsible for the assembly and installation of customer-specified products into commercial/fleet vehicles. Essential duties include:

1. Sub-assembly or pre-assembly of steel cabinets, partitions, ladder racks, and related items on or adjacent to the assembly line.
2. Installation of sub-assembled or purchased items.
3. Pre-assembly and installation of electrical components and alarms as required.
4. Pre-assembly of items to be shipped.
5. Inspection of parts and assemblies.
6. Cleaning up completed vehicles.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Build and install interior/exterior components and related items into vehicles.
2. Follow wiring diagrams and schematics for electrical installations.
3. Maintain reasonable production standards.
4. Ensure quality standards are met.
5. Complete necessary forms and paperwork.
6. Operate a motor vehicle if required.
7. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
8. Recycle materials as required.
9. Maintain a safe work environment and good housekeeping.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
• At least 3 months of related experience.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or with others.
• Fluent in English, able to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Accurate record-keeping skills.

Physical Demands:

• Climb, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, reach, twist, and work overhead.
• Stand or walk for most of the shift.
• Use hand-held power tools.
• Lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Handle various-sized objects with hands and fingers.

Background in manufacturing, assembly, production, or construction is preferred.
