Job summary

Epiroc in Garland, TX is seeking an Assembly Technician to build and wire hydraulic rigs and components on the shop floor. You will follow schematics, torque specs and safety guidelines while coordinating with other teams to ensure timely, quality assembly.

Required: strong English reading/writing, at least 2 years as an assembler, HS diploma or GED, and ability to read blueprints. The role is onsite with day shifts and opportunities for growth within a global leader in mining equipment.

Qualifications

  • Must read, write and comprehend English.
  • Knowledge of reading blueprints, schematics and specifications.
  • Two years minimum as an assembler preferred.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Install and connect hydraulic controls, pumps, rams and other system elements.
  • Mount, hook-up and connect engines, gear boxes, axles and power components.
  • Assemble mounted hydraulic products per process sheets and tighten bolts.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the assembly area and report defects.
  • Follow safety regulations and maintain related records.

Join Our Team as a Assembler at Epiroc!

Perform all required and assigned assembly operations on drilling rigs and equipment following standard(s) and within company safety guidelines. This position is also in charge of some trans-functional task for the smooth coordination with other areas within the operation.

Responsibilities:
  • Install and connect hydraulic controls, pumps, rams, and other system elements
  • Mount, hook-up and connect engines, gear boxes, axles and other power components and units
  • Assemble mounted hydraulic products which includes the installation and tightening of common bolts and hydraulic hosed per process sheets
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the assembly area
  • Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations / guidelines
  • Maintain work related records and reports
  • Perform other duties as required or directed
Occasional, Infrequent
  • Train new hires
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for rejected parts
  • Return to Stock (RTS) non-required parts to the Warehouse
Knowledge/Education:
  • Required to read, write and comprehend English
  • Use and comprehend specifications, blueprints, and schematics
  • Knowledge of all mechanical components on the rig and their ideal operation
  • Overall knowledge of product line
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting principles
  • Knowledge of MFG Pro preferred
  • HS Diploma or GED required
The training period for this position:
  • Six months to a year
Prior Positions/Training:
  • Two years minimum as an assembler preferred
  • Must have training in reading blueprints
