Job summary

OBE is seeking an Assembler 1 to join our Production team. You will drill, mill, and assemble metal doors and frames to customer specifications, with responsibilities including labeling, hand-tool use, and safety adherence.

Ideal candidates have a detail-oriented mindset, can read measurements, and are reliable team players who can learn welding basics and operate in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to read, understand, and communicate.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with deadlines; overtime when required.
• Work performed inside a production environment.
• Able to stand 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Noise levels can be moderate to high.
• Facility is subject to regional climate conditions (heat, cold, humidity).

Responsibilities

• Drill, mill, and saw metal.
• Assemble metal frames to customer specifications.
• Attach labels and tags to products and packages.
• Regularly use hand tools and learn to use them safely.
• Read and interpret basic measurements with a tape measure.
• Adhere to internal/external quality standards.
• Learn basic welding as needed.

What You'll Get to Do

The Assembler 1 is focused on drilling and milling metal, assembling/fabricating doors and frames to specifications provided by the customer. Additional activities may include welding, use of hand tools and packing products. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver . A vital member of the Production Departments , this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

• Drilling/milling/sawing metal
• Assembling metal frames to meet customer specifications
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Regular use of hand tools and how to use them safely
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure.
• Adhere to quality standards provided to customers (internal/external).
• Be able to learn basic welding
