Job summary

Altorfer Inc. is seeking an assembler to build generator sets, enclosures, and packaged components in a shop environment in Peoria, IL. You will use hand tools and shop equipment, reading drawings and following instructions to ensure accurate assembly.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, teamwork, and the willingness to learn new skills while maintaining a safe, clean workspace. A valid driver's license and physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and understand engineering or shop drawings preferred.

600AM - 230PM; Monday - Friday

• Assemble generator set packages, enclosures and packaged components using hand tools, shop equipment, and material-handling devices.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical assembly work per drawings and work instructions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation.
• Work closely with production supervisors to meet build schedules and quality expectations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety requirements.
• Support general shop and warehouse tasks as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to read and understand engineering or shop drawings preferred
• Prior experience using hand tools and common shop tools required
• Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn new skills
• Dependable, productive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong communication and basic interpersonal skills
• Must provide personal hand tools
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and regularly climb ladders and stairs
• Valid driver's license required (motor vehicle report required for final candidate)

Payrate $23.25 - $37.54 per hour

This position works in a shop environment with some outside exposure. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75lbs. The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses with side shields and steel toe footwear) is required. Noise level is usually moderate to high. May intermittently sit at a desk to answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email.
