Job summary

Altorfer Inc. is seeking an Assembler to build generator set units, enclosures, and related components in a shop setting. You will work with production, engineering, and operations to ensure safe, efficient, on-time assembly.

The role requires hands-on work with tools and drawings, and a readiness to learn new skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interpreting drawings, using hand tools, and collaborating with team members to meet schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Read and interpret engineering or shop drawings preferred.
• Prior experience using hand tools and common shop tools required.
• Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn new skills.
• Dependable, productive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong communication and basic interpersonal skills.
• Must provide personal hand tools.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and regularly climb ladders and stairs.
• Valid driver's license required (MVR required for final candidate).

Responsibilities

• Assemble generator set packages, enclosures and packaged components using hand tools, shop equipment, and material-handling devices.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical assembly work per drawings and work instructions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation.
• Work closely with production supervisors to meet build schedules and quality expectations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety requirements.
• Support general shop and warehouse tasks as needed

Overview

The Assembler is responsible for building and assembling generator set units, enclosures and related components in a shop environment. This role works directly with production, engineering, and operations to assemble quality products safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is handson, dependable, and comfortable working with tools, drawings, and physical tasks.

Basic Duties

• Assemble generator set packages, enclosures and packaged components using hand tools, shop equipment, and materialhandling devices.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical assembly work per drawings and work instructions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation.

Payrate: $23.25 - $37.54 per hour

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position works in a shop environment with some outside exposure. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75lbs. The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses with side shields and steel toe footwear) is required. Noise level is usually moderate to high. May intermittently sit at a desk to answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
