Job summary

EK is seeking an assembler to build generator enclosures, tanks, and subassemblies per blueprints and specifications. You will use hand and power tools, read BOMs, and assist in installing electrical components as required.

Ideal candidates can read instructions, work with team members to solve fit issues, and maintain a clean, safe workspace. Physical work includes lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Comfort reading instructions and manuals.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble generator enclosures, tanks and subassemblies per prints and drawings.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to fit parts, align, and secure components.
  • Read BOMs to package parts to customer requirements.
  • Operate lifting equipment to move heavy parts safely.
  • Assist in installation of electrical components and insulation as needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized work area and help troubleshoot fit issues.

Job description

Summary

Assembles generator enclosures, tanks and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads and understands blueprints and bill of material.
  • Assembles functional parts of enclosures and tanks using hand tools, power tools (cordless drills, impact gun, etc.) levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Uses forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, ladders and other lifting apparatus to aide in the assembly process.
  • Assists in the assembly and installation of electrical and electronic components (electrical enclosures, transformers, etc.; all electrical connections are done by qualified personnel), pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment, and installation of insulation materials as required.
  • Assembles both small and large sub-assemblies according to prints or drawings.
  • Reads bill of material to package parts/kits to customer requirements.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine assembly sequence, and setup requirements
  • Follows work instructions from general description. Works with other team members to troubleshoot mechanical/fit issues in a satisfactory manner.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.

Education And/Or Experience

High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
