Job summary

Modine is seeking a Custom Fabricator / Welder to build high-performance make-up air systems. You’ll read blueprints, weld with MIG, and assemble components with attention to detail in a fast-paced team setting.

You will operate fabrication tools, handle lifts, insulate parts, and ensure safety and quality at every step. Training on CAD and blueprint interpretation is provided.

Qualifications

• Hands-on fabrication experience with metalwork.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings; eager to learn.
• Experience with MIG welding and operating common metal fabrication tools.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble make-up air equipment following specs and checklists.
• Mount fans, motors, burners, and gas manifolds per blueprint/CAD guidance.
• Operate forklifts and lift equipment to move components safely.
• Measure, cut, and insulate parts to meet exacting standards.
• Complete quality checklists and suggest improvements for quality and cost.
• Maintain productivity while delivering high-quality workmanship.

• Bring Blueprints to Life: Assemble cutting-edge make-up air equipment with precision and pride, following detailed specs, procedures, and quality checklists.
• Master the Machines: Mount fans, motors, burners, and gas manifolds like a pro. Don’t worry—blueprint and CAD training is provided!
• Operate with Confidence: Safely handle forklifts and lift equipment to move and position components with ease.
• Craft with Care: Measure, cut, and install insulation to exacting standards—your attention to detail makes all the difference.
• Be the Quality Gatekeeper: Complete checklists with accuracy and suggest smart improvements to boost quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Own Your Craft: Maintain high productivity while delivering top-tier workmanship every step of the way.

Required Qualifications:

• A knack for mechanical work and a sharp eye for detail
• Ability to read tape measures, do basic math, and follow written instructions
• Comfortable reading blueprints and technical drawings (or eager to learn!)
• Skilled in MIG welding and operating tools like cold saws, iron workers, shears, and more
• Experience with sheet metal bending and general fabrication is a big plus
• Physically able to stand, bend, kneel, and work overhead—you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in construction, assembly, or carpentry is a bonus
• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
