Job summary

Atlas Copco Houston facility is seeking an Assembler to join our production team and contribute to building advanced compressor packages. You will assemble mechanical and electrical components, test assemblies, and ensure products meet strict safety and performance standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will report to the Foreman and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to drive continuous improvement while adhering to safety rules and 6S practices.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of technical training or relevant hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma is mandatory; technical education in mechanical or electrical systems is advantageous.
  • Certification to operate forklifts or similar equipment is required.
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Good organizational skills with clear communication and collaboration with team members.
  • Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks and work extended hours when needed to meet production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Precisely assembling compressor packages, including blowers, dryers, filters, and related products, meeting quality specs.
  • Conducting testing and troubleshooting to ensure product reliability.
  • Cross-training across assembly lines and product types for flexibility.
  • Follow Atlas Copco’s Safety First and 6S methodologies for a clean, safe workspace.
  • Document discrepancies or issues with BOMs and quality using NCRs and deviation reports.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks and maintain ergonomic practices.
  • Participate in daily/weekly safety audits and 6S compliance checks.

Assembler

As an Assembler with Atlas Copco, you will play a vital role in the production and assembly of advanced compressor packages and compressed air solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to assemble mechanical and electrical components to create high-quality, reliable products that meet strict safety and performance standards. Reporting directly to the Foreman, you will contribute to a seamless manufacturing process by executing tasks such as component assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and modifications. Your work will support core business objectives including timely delivery, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
  • Precisely assembling compressor packages, including blowers, dryers, filters, and related compressed air products, ensuring all parts meet quality specifications.
  • Conducting thorough testing and troubleshooting procedures to detect and resolve assembly issues, ensuring product reliability.
  • Engaging in cross-training opportunities to develop skills across multiple assembly lines and product types, fostering flexibility and team collaboration.
  • Applying established manufacturing techniques and adhering to Atlas Copco’s Safety First and 6S methodologies to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
  • Reporting discrepancies or issues with bills of materials (BOM) and product quality through formal documentation systems such as NCR forms and deviation reports.
  • Performing rigorous physical tasks in diverse environments, demonstrating safe labor practices including lifting, bending, climbing, and installing components while complying with ergonomic policies.
  • Proactively participating in daily and weekly safety audits and 6S compliance checks to uphold the company’s zero-accident vision and environmental standards.
  • Collaborating with engineering and quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product and process performance.
  • Contributing to sustainability efforts by supporting energy and resource efficiency targets in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Your role will be fundamental in maintaining the reputation of Atlas Copco as a leader in compressor technology and ensuring that every product leaving the workshop meets the highest standards of quality and safety. To succeed, you will need
