Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking an Assembler to perform mechanical and electro-mechanical sub-assembly tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role involves following verbal instructions or established procedures, performing precise fitting, and using hand tools.

You will be responsible for wire bonding, soldering, spot welding, and operating ultrasonic welding equipment. The position may require working at a microscope and potentially rotating to other stations as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of assembly experience preferred.
• Soldering experience (or certificate) preferred.
• Ability to follow safety standards and work in a team.

Job Description:

The Assembler performs mechanical or electro-mechanical sub-assembly work. Direction is provided by verbal instructions or established assembly procedures. Requires simple adjusting and fitting of pre-finished parts. Uses simple hand tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: include the following:

• Performs assembly operations either by wire bonding, soldering, spot welding, staking, or epoxying.
• Performs assembly under a microscope.
• Hand solders pins, cables, components, sub-assemblies, and completed units.
• Operates ultrasonic welding apparatus.
• Attaches various I.C.s, transistors, resistors, or thermistors to P.C. boards.
• Performs oil fill operations.
• Conducts tests for some final units.
• Performs life testing programs utilizing a computer.
• Provides training or instruction of co-workers and other employees when needed.
• May operate turning-center-assisted tig welding to specific programs established by Manufacturing Engineering.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• May rotate to other workstations in the unit.
• Meets or exceeds department’s targets set by supervisor/ managers
• Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• 2+ years of experience preferred
• Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.
• Ability to follow workplace safety standards and company policies and procedures.
• Ability to work in a team setting and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize meeting deadlines.
• Soldering experience (or Certificate) Preferred.
• Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts. Work is typically performed at a bench and may include walking or standing some of the time
• Basic computer skills.

EDUCATION:

• Minimum high school diploma or general education degree GED.
