Job summary

Fives Landis Corp in Hagerstown, Maryland, is actively seeking an Assembler to join its Erecting Team. You will assemble grinding machines and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment; read drawings and hydraulic diagrams to ensure accurate builds.

We require a High School diploma or GED and a strong mechanical aptitude. The position offers 2nd shift; benefits include holidays, 401(k) matching, medical coverage, and training reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production related environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and its application to machine tools, specifically grinding machines.
• Ability to use a wide variety of hand power, and air tools.
• Self-starter with a strong attention to detail, and committed to an innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Must be available to work 2nd Shift as required by operational needs.
• Assemble complex grinding machines and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, hydraulic diagrams, and written and verbal instructions to accurately build machines, sub-assemblies, hydraulic piping, and component hookups.
• Safely operate forklifts, hand trucks, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment in accordance with safety standards and departmental procedures.
• Inspect parts and completed work to identify defects, verify quality specifications, and distinguish between various mechanical and hydraulic components.
• Complete required production, quality, and documentation forms to maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement.

Pay Range: $22 – $25 (rate offered will be commensurate with experience)
