Job summary

Fives Landis Corp in Hagerstown, MD is actively seeking an Assembler to join its Erecting Team. You will read drawings, assemble grinding machines and components, and use hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment with attention to detail.

Requires a High School diploma or GED and availability for 2nd shift. Competitive pay range of $22–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits and training within a global engineering group.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read assembly drawings and instructions.
• Able to use hand power and air tools and operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex grinding machines and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, hydraulic diagrams, and written and verbal instructions.
• Safely operate forklifts, hand trucks, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.
• Inspect parts and completed work to verify quality and document production records.
• Join the Erecting Team under the Assembly Manager and support continuous improvement.

Pay Range:

$22 – $25 (rate offered will be commensurate with experience)

At Fives we all have a part to play in achieving our common purpose. Your role will be to:

• Must be available to work 2nd Shift as required by operational needs.
• Assemble complex grinding machines and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, hydraulic diagrams, and written and verbal instructions to accurately build machines, sub-assemblies, hydraulic piping, and component hookups.
• Safely operate forklifts, hand trucks, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment in accordance with safety standards and departmental procedures.
• Inspect parts and completed work to identify defects, verify quality specifications, and distinguish between various mechanical and hydraulic components.
• Complete required production, quality, and documentation forms to maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement.

We are seeking someone who has a minimum of a High School diploma, GED or equivalent. Experience working in a manufacturing or production related environment preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and its application to machine tools, specifically grinding machines. Ability to use a wide variety of hand power, and air tools.
