Job summary

Volvo Group’s Kings Mountain Operations seeks an Assembler to set up and perform assembly on bench and line, operate weld and spray equipment, and follow process instructions. You will inspect parts, measure with tools, and uphold a clean, safe work area while supporting team goals and quality targets.

The role contributes to sustainable transport solutions and offers base pay around 21.62 USD/hour with potential bonuses where applicable.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with basic math skills.
  • 0-2 years in a manufacturing environment desired.
  • Willingness to develop in alignment with Volvo Way and Code of Conduct.

As an Assembler, you will hold a very important role in the Kings Mountain Operations (KMO) facility. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing equipment to consistently produce a quality product in an efficient manner.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Setting up and performing simple and complex assembly/fabrication operations on bench, floor fixture, or progressive manufacturing line.

  • Performing tasks as outlined in the process work instructions.

  • Operating hand and/or power tools.

  • Perform inspections as outlined in the Inspection Instruction sheets.

  • Operate manual production equipment consisting of spot welders, mig welders, gas welder, plasma-cutters, sealer flow guns, spray guns, sanders, grinders equipment as appropriate for assigned areas.

  • Use various measurement tools.

  • Proper handling of Hazardous Waste generated by plant.

  • Upholding and maintaining the team-oriented environment with quality goals.

  • Performing other duties as assigned by Team Leader, Supervisor, and/or Manager.

  • Maintain a clean work area.


Education, Skills & Experience:


  • High school diploma and/or GED with basic math skills and reading comprehension.

  • Basic understanding of industrial safety practices.

  • 0-2 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment is desired.

  • Willingness to develop in alignment with the Volvo Way and the Code of Conduct.

The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
