Job summary

Trane Technologies in Greenville, SC, is seeking an on-site Assembly Technician to safely perform high-level assembly work, contribute to quality standards, and support safety and productivity on the production line.

You will rotate duties across stations, identify parts, issue reports on safety or quality concerns, and work with pneumatic, electric, and hand tools. The role requires basic math and writing, teamwork, and a proactive, self-motivated attitude.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.
  • Ability to work well with others and be a team player.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt and improve.
  • Basic math and writing skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using tools.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform high-level/assembly work to quality standards.
  • Follow methods and procedures to assemble products.
  • Identify and report safety or quality risks.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy in the work area.
  • Rotate duties across stations to support productivity.
  • Enter data in computer systems and complete forms.

Where Is The Work

On-Site (5 days)

Position Description
  • This position is responsible for safely performing high-level / Assembly repetitive work to quality standards.
  • This position is expected to perform a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the building (assembly) of our product.
  • Tasks will vary by work area and work assignments will change based on business demands, routine Job rotations will be required to support the Safety, Quality and Productivity Objectives
  • The position is expected to perform the specified job duties within the allotted time, within the quality standards and prescribed methods.
  • Identify, report, and stop any Safety, Quality or risks to people, product, or the business
  • Identify correct Parts, Locate parts necessary for assembly
  • Accurately Assemble product in an efficient manner
    • Follow Prescribe Methods and Procedures
    • Complete Tasks in the time allotted
  • Use necessary tools and equipment to assemble products
    • Pneumatic, Electric and Hand tools may be required
  • Operate pneumatic / Electric hand tools
  • Maintain accurate inventory of parts local to specific work area
  • Follow and adhere to all safety, quality and Trane Technologies policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required including;
    • Actively contributing to Safety, Quality and Productivity activities and improvements
    • Maintaining the work area for cleanliness, Orderliness, and efficiency Standards
    • Rotate job duties, areas and Stations as needed for Safety, Quality and Productivity.
    • Enter Data in computer systems, fill in forms, charts etc.
    • Comfortable to work independently and as a Team member to identify, improve, troubleshoot, and take ownership of the results of the machine or process the operator is responsible.
Education, Experience & Skills
  • Some “Hard Goods” manufacturing experience (More than a Single part)
  • Some Experience using and improving formalized work Standards
  • High school diploma or General Equivalent Degree (GED) required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively.
  • Willingness to change, flex and learn
  • Computer Skills (Filling in Forms, logging in, navigating websites, etc.)
  • Basic math skills (Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide, Measure, use a calculator,)
  • Basic Writing Skills (Writing notes legibly, forming numbers / numerals, understandable)

  • Mechanical Aptitude Defined as:
    • Having worked with some kind of tools in the past
    • Can be a Hobby, Past Job, or other experience
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move freely and have sufficient reflexes to perform the same tasks repeatedly.
  • Ability to stand 8 - 10 hours Daily
  • Ability to lift 40+Lbs repeatably through the shift
  • Breaks are Formalized, Scheduled, and regulated due to the interconnectivity of the assembly line
  • This will be a Tobacco Free Facility (No Smoking, No Chewing tobacco, No Smokeless pouches, No Vaping)
