Job summary

Pemco Corporation in Virginia is seeking a skilled assembler to position and assemble metal products, following blueprints or verbal instructions. You will read build sheets, use hand, air, and power tools, and work safely in a fast-paced environment.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Job description

Responsible for assembling metal products, partially or completely, and positioning parts according to knowledge of the unit or following blueprints, diagrams, layouts, or oral instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position parts according to unit specifications or blueprints.
  • Fasten parts using bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners with hand, air, and/or power tools.
  • Perform duties safely and efficiently in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist in training and instruction of others as requested by the supervisor.
  • May require additional responsibilities and ability to work overtime.
Job Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: 0–2 years or more
  • Travel: Less than 10%
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work overhead and below floor level.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Follow established methods and procedures.
  • Work rapidly under time pressure for extended periods to meet build requirements.
  • Read and interpret build sheets and blueprints.
