Job summary

L&S Electric in Appleton, WI is seeking a hands-on assembler to manufacture and modify electric motors and subassemblies. You will follow detailed instructions, prepare materials, and assemble components while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires lifting up to 75 lbs and the ability to work overtime as needed. Excellent manual dexterity and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Able to read, write and speak English.
  • Good mechanical attitude.
  • Able to bend, squat, pull, push, climb, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture electric motors by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Modify motors, gearboxes and subassemblies.
  • Follow assembly and testing instructions.
  • Prepare work to be performed by following assembly instructions, manufacturing order and parts list.
  • Gather parts, tools and materials required for assembly.
  • Troubleshoot any assembly problems that arise.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Keep equipment operational by performing preventive maintenance and following manufacturer's instructions.
  • Paint motors.
  • Comply with all safety rules and company policies.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the production manager within the physical constraints of the job.

  • Modify motors, gearboxes and subassemblies.
  • Follow assembly and testing instructions. Position parts and assemble components by examining connections for correct fit.
  • Prepare work to be performed by following assembly instructions, manufacturing order and parts list.
  • Gather parts, tools and materials required for assembly.
  • Troubleshoot any assembly problems that arise.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Keep equipment operational by performing preventive maintenance and following manufacturer's instructions.
  • Paint motors.
  • Comply with all safety rules and company policies.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the production manager within the physical constraints of the job.
Essential Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Able to read, write and speak English.
  • Good mechanical attitude.
  • Able to bend, squat, pull, push, climb, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, on weekdays and at weekends to meet customer service requirements.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical aptitude and assembly experience preferred.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, comfortable with the use of hand tools such as: Hammer, drill, key wrench, torque wrench, screwdrivers, pliers.
  • Experience with industrial tools such as: vertical drill, industrial press and hoist.
  • Experience with rigging and lifting heavy loads, and operating overhead cranes.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Experience with measuring tools such as: Caliper, thickness gauge and multimeter.
  • Must be organized and possess time management skills and skills to adapt to priority changes.
  • Must be able to work in a supportive team environment that is fast paced with a strong commitment to accountability.
  • Must be able to follow and communicate both written and verbal information clearly in English with minimal supervision.
