Job description

Your Role at Cabot

Cabot Corporation has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Plant Engineer to support the Hopkinsville KY plant. This person will assist with technical support and improvements in manufacturing process capability, capacity, and productivity to ensure safe and optimal process utilization and/or scale-up. They will apply best practice machinery-care principles, implement world-class equipment care procedures, and process changes to maximize plant safety and reliability. The role may also focus on specific products, lines, units, plant process/equipment reliability, and/or Process Safety Management.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Support the identification and implementation of improvements in plant performance to optimize product volume, yields, and quality, while minimizing operating costs and maximizing safety and reliability.
  • Gather and evaluate data using statistical techniques to improve process capability, identify root causes, and implement improvements.
  • Provide technical advice and support to resolve issues using root cause analysis.
  • Support and implement new product and process runs, preparing relevant documentation.
  • Assist in designing, procuring, and installing new equipment for product development, commercialization, and process improvements.
  • Ensure all product and process changes follow Management of Change (MOC) principles. Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities as needed.
  • Support efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care Management System in accordance with RC14001 standards.
What You Will Bring to Cabot
  • Technical knowledge of chemical processes and product technology.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Statistical Process Control, etc.
  • Proficiency in equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw well-reasoned conclusions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
