Skills and Competencies

• 8+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or commercial strategy roles
• Proven track record of enabling strategic and operational decisioning through data insights
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to create structured, detailed, and compelling analyses addressed to various audiences within the organization
• Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Knowledge/comfort level with data visualization tools such as Power BI
• Ability to work independently or in a small team setting against tight deadlines
• Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands‑on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use

Education

• Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, data science, or related field; advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

Drive firm-wide business analytics by delivering data-driven insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across critical commercial, financial, product, and market domains.

• Lead the development of analytics capabilities across commercial, financial (bookings), product, portfolio, use case, and market domains
• Support in the development of business metrics definitions and ensure effective implementation
• Deliver actionable insights to Strategy, Business units, Finance, and Sales through advanced analytics, data modeling, and visualization tools
• Research and champion innovative concepts that help stakeholders identify and understand strengths and weaknesses in the business in order to take relevant and timely actions
• Build and maintain dashboards that support strategic planning, performance tracking, portfolio analysis, and regular business reviews
• Establish scalable processes and tools to empower stakeholders with running their own analyses while creating capacity to assist with ad hoc business analysis needs
• Work closely with senior leaders in Finance, Strategy, Product, Sales, and Commercial teams to align analytics initiatives with business priorities and reporting needs
• Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives that inform executive decision-making
• Serve as a trusted advisor on data-driven strategy and performance optimization

About the Team

The Business Intelligence team at Moody's Analytics is a high-impact group dedicated to developing analytic capabilities across critical data domains, including pricing, bookings, product, customer, portfolio, and market. Reporting to Alayna Grewal, our team combines deep business understanding with advanced data mining and analytical capabilities to power strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is$142,500.00- $206,700.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
