Job description

Ryther is a recognized leader in behavioral health services for children and their families facing complex challenges. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive services and innovative treatments. We guide, coach and teach so that every child and family we work with may experience new ways of thinking, develop positive relationships and realize a better life.

The Aspiring Youth Program provides social groups, and individual coaching for neurodiverse youth ages 8-18 who need extra support in navigating their social worlds. Our participants often have diagnoses including Autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities, though no diagnosis is required for our programs. The Program Counselor provides direct supervision to participants in the groups. In addition, the program counselor may provide individual coaching to clients.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision for clients in the social groups and/or individual coaching.
  • Implement group games, art, theater, tabletop gaming and other experiential activities, based on applicant’s experience.
  • Maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries with clients, families, co-workers and community resources.
  • Maintain case records in accordance with licensing, accreditation and agency requirements.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral sciences preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with youth. Experience working with neurodiverse youth preferred.
  • Valid Washington state driver's license.
There are two options for this position, Program Counselor 1 ($19-21 per hour) and Program Counselor 2 ($22-28 per hour). The main difference is that the Program Counselor 2 coordinates group/client curriculum and makes programmatic decisions in consultation with co-facilitators and AY Program Manager. Please indicate which position you’re interested in.
Ryther seeks to create a work environment that reflects the diverse community that it serves. People of color, LGBTQIA, persons with disabilities, and multi-lingual individuals encouraged to apply. Our diversity is our strength!
