Job summary

Grandview Heights High School in Columbus, Ohio seeks an Assistant Varsity Cheerleading Coach (Basketball) to supervise and instruct a small team and support the Head Cheerleading Coach. Responsibilities include coaching six days a week with practices, contests, and travel, and developing training plans while ensuring safety and positive student-athlete development.

Qualifications include experience in the designated sport, meeting coaching requirements set by the Board of Education and OHSAA

Qualifications

Experience in the designated sport.
Must meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA, including acquiring a pupil activity permit and CPR certification
Prior coaching experience preferred
Van certification preferred

Responsibilities

Supervise and instruct high school cheerleading team consisting of approximately 6-10 athletes each
Assist the Head Cheerleading Coach with coaching, communication, and administrative duties as assigned
Conduct regular practices for the team
Coach student-athletes in a positive manner
Ensure the safety of all student-athletes during practices and competitions
Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing ability levels
Coaching will require six days per week including practices and contests. 15-20 hours per week is a typical time commitment for the coach
Supervise and travel with the team to all contests
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
