Job summary

Platteview Central in Springfield, NE seeks an Assistant Jr. High Track Coach to support the Head Coach in developing the district's athletic program, teaching fundamentals and advanced track skills in line with NSAA and district guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma, instructional experience with students, CPR/First Aid/AED, and completion of required trainings. It is a part-time position with season duties and regular practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with students in instructional setting.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification required before coaching assignment begins.
• Complete required trainings upon hire: Concussion in sports, Blood Borne Pathogens, Heat Illness and Sudden Cardiac Emergencies, Child Abuse and Reporting, and Sexual Harrassment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with practice sessions to develop sport skills and sportsmanship.
• Help supervise student athletes prior to, during, and after events; ensure student safety at all times.
• Attend and monitor all practices and meets.
• Communicate discipline procedures and safety concerns to Head Coach and High School Administration.
• Assist with communicating to athletes and parents expectations including practice schedules and games, as well as academic performance and sportsmanship.
• Demonstrate fairness and consistency in decisions related to participants.
• Follow NSAA and district guidelines.
• Attend mandatory meetings and trainings to stay updated.
• Assist in inventory and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Support K-12 development including camps and clinics.
