Job summary

AMD is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering co-op to join our team. You will work closely with software engineers to build and maintain applications, receive training across the full software development lifecycle, and contribute to automation and debugging efforts.

The role offers real-world experience on projects impacting millions of users in a hybrid/on-site setting. Eligible students are enrolled in US universities in CS/CE/EE.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a US-based university as an undergraduate in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of C/C++ programming and scripting; familiarity with Python, Windows PowerShell, Linux shell, Perl, Java, JavaScript, UML is desirable.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux OS and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and web frameworks (Django, Rails, Spring Boot).
• Understanding of version control (Git, GitHub, Perforce) and debugging methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining software applications with AMD engineers.
• Participate in training across the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Develop scripts to automate parts of the development process.
• Learn debugging techniques to diagnose software issues.
• Assist with drafting technical/functional documentation as needed.
