Job summary

Columbia Forest Products in Oregon is seeking a Production Team Lead to supervise part of the Daily Management System, drive hourly targets, and develop countermeasures for variances. You will apply 5S, Visual Control, and standard work to enhance efficiency on the plant floor.

The role requires leadership of teams, training through Job Instruction and Job Relations techniques, and promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Travel is minimal and manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Supervises part of the Daily Management System and develops countermeasures.
• Applies 8 Wastes awareness in production.
• Implements 5S & Visual Control at all workstations.
• Owns development and adherence to standard work.
• Uses Job Instruction techniques to train operators.
• Applies Job Relations to team relations.
• Applies Job Methods to improve tasks.
• Uses Performance Counseling to provide feedback.
• Facilitates team meetings.
• Ensures safety performance of operators and maintenance staff.
• Promotes and enforces quality standards with countermeasures.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Collaborates with maintenance to solve problems.
• Communicates information to Team Leaders and the VSM.
• Applies A3 Problem Solving.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Supervise part of the DMS and develop countermeasures for variances.
• Promote 5S and Visual Control across workstations.
• Own standard work development and adherence.
• Teach skills using Job Instruction techniques.
• Apply Job Relations to team dynamics and performance.
• Lead and facilitate team meetings as needed.
• Ensure safety and quality performance of production staff.
• Coordinate with maintenance to resolve issues on equipment.
• Communicate key information to Team Leaders and the VSM.
• Apply A3 Problem Solving in daily operations.
