Job summary

The Mason Middle Theater Assistant Musical Director supports the Musical Director in all aspects of the middle school musical theater program, including rehearsals, music, choreography, and helping shape the overall production vision.

Responsibilities include leading rehearsals, conducting music, assisting with choreography, recruiting and casting students, scheduling rehearsals, and assisting with costumes, sets, and program promotion within the school community.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in musical theater (degree not required).
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work effectively with middle school students.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead rehearsals for the middle school musical theater program
• Conduct music for the middle school musical theater program
• Assist with choreography for the middle school musical theater program
• Help to create and implement the overall vision for the middle school musical theater program
• Help to recruit and cast students for the middle school musical theater program
• Work with the Musical Director to create and implement a rehearsal schedule for the middle school musical theater program
• Oversee students when the director is not present
• Help to create and implement costume and set designs for the middle school musical theater program
• Help to promote the middle school musical theater program to the school community
• Assist with the overall production of the middle school musical theater program
• Other duties as assigned by the Musical Director
