Job summary

North Country Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Nursing Assistant Apprentice in New Hampshire to participate in classroom, laboratory, and supervised clinical training while working toward LNA certification. Under supervision, you will assist with basic patient care and develop the skills needed to transition into the LNA role upon certification.

You will be enrolled in an approved Nursing Assistant Training Program and must meet program eligibility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Enrollment in an approved Nursing Assistant Training Program.
  • Must meet all eligibility requirements established by the approved training program.
  • Additional healthcare-related training certifications relevant to student status.
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS or Heartsaver CPR AED certification for staff and renewal as required.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in classroom, laboratory training, clinical activities and competency validation.
  • Performs only supervised patient care activities taught and approved.
  • Assists patients with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing and dressing.
  • Supports nutrition and hydration needs, including meal assistance and monitoring intake.
  • Assists with elimination needs and continence care under supervision.
  • Obtains and reports vital signs, weights, intake/output and observations.
  • Assists with ambulation, transfers, mobility, and safety-compliant care.
  • Maintains patient dignity, privacy, confidentiality and respect.
  • Documents care activities and observations per policy and supervision.
  • Responds in emergencies following licensed staff direction and current training level.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide safe, quality care.
