Job summary

State of Maryland is seeking a DJS Resident Advisor Trainee in Western Maryland to supervise and guide youth in a secure facility. The entry-level role requires flexibility to work regular shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, and may involve call-ins based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or high school equivalency certificate.
• Experience: None.
• Note: The above educational requirement is set by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission in accordance with the Correctional Services Article, Section 8-209, Annotated Code of Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and guidance to the youth residing in the facility.
• Observe, interact and assist youth with everyday life skills and appropriate behaviors.
• Be available for regular shifts and may work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
