Job summary

Ohio Farmers Insurance Company is seeking a Turfgrass Management Intern to support Hospitality operations on golf course grounds and maintenance tasks. This role is a development position focused on learning course setup, agronomic practices, and golf industry etiquette.

Under supervision, you will participate in daily groundskeeping, equipment operations, fertilization knowledge, and event support, building hands-on experience for a career in turfgrass management and golf hospitality.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in Hospitality Operations or a related field.
• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
• Availability to work a variable schedule including weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the day-to-day operations of various departments within the hospitality establishment.
• Assists in the day-to-day maintenance of the company's Club grounds department, working closely with management to understand daily priorities.
• Performs assigned golf course or ground maintenance and upkeep using equipment including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, string trimmers, blowers and more.
• Gains knowledge in fertilization, aeration, topdressing and pesticide application per ODA regulations; documents in official development records.
• Gains experience to help lead and support Hospitality activities, including directing seasonal employees.
