Job summary

Dobbs Truck Group is hiring an Apprentice Diesel Technician to learn the trade on heavy-duty trucks under seasoned technicians. The role is designed to grow into a Diesel Technician within 1–2 years, with hands-on shop experience and structured learning opportunities.

You will gain exposure to routine maintenance, basic repairs, and electrical tasks while developing documentation and teamwork skills in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic tool set (minimum requirements apply).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, filters, belts, hoses).
• Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs.
• Support basic electrical work (batteries, lights, starters, alternators).
• Inspect vehicles and report findings to senior technicians.
• Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Follow shop procedures and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Accurately document work performed.
