Job summary

Dobbs Truck Group is actively seeking motivated individuals to begin a diesel technician career through an Apprentice Diesel Technician role. You will receive hands-on training on heavy‑duty trucks while learning from experienced technicians.

This role is designed to transition into a Diesel Technician within 1–2 years. The program emphasizes hands-on shop experience, safety, and teamwork, with a path from Apprentice to Diesel Technician 1-3 and then Journeyman Technician 1-2, plus a

• 0–2 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic tool set (minimum requirements apply).
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, filters, belts, hoses).
• Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs.
• Support basic electrical work (batteries, lights, starters, alternators).
• Inspect vehicles and report findings to senior technicians.
• Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Follow shop procedures and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Accurately document work performed.

About the Role

The Apprentice Diesel Technician is an entry-level role focused on developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Diesel Technician.

You’ll gain hands-on experience working on heavy-duty trucks while learning directly from experienced technicians. This role is designed to grow into a Diesel Technician position within 1–2 years.

Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs
