Job summary

ICM, Inc. in Kansas offers a hands-on internship in the Project Management department.

You will work with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, project managers, scientists, sales, and business professionals to assist in developing preliminary estimates and construction schedules. As an enrolled student in construction management or a related degree, you will gain experience reviewing plans, coordinating subcontractors, and supporting field engineering tasks while you contribute to bid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Must be currently enrolled as a student in a public or accredited private academic institution with focus on construction management, engineering, or related degree.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Project, Procore and Navisworks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Management to develop preliminary estimates.
• Create preliminary construction schedules.
• Coordinate with Design Engineers to develop and complete design deliverables.
• Review preliminary plans and specifications.
• Coordinate approval of subcontractors, develop scopes of work and create and coordinate bid packages.
• Complete preliminary drafts of subcontract agreements for supervisor review.
• Assist with preliminary material and equipment take-offs.
• Order, track, and expedite equipment as directed by Project Management.
• Work with Project Management to respond to daily RFIs.
• Assist Field Staff with tracking of external man-hours.
• Periodically travel to job site to complete field engineering responsibilities as needed.
• Work to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand.
• Proactively develop and maintain a broad knowledge of the technical disciplines in the functional area.
• Use subject matter / functional expertise, influence, and process skills to help internal customers identify and meet their high priority needs.
