Job summary

Nutrien Ag Solutions seeks an Agronomy Trainee for its Winterville, MS innovation farm. You’ll work with seasoned agronomists and farm staff to deepen agronomic skills while rotating to nearby retail branches to broaden knowledge and exposure.

The two-year New Grad program develops early career professionals through field trials, data collection, and collaborative learning. You will gain experience in planning, data analysis, and customer engagement, while supporting safety and day-to-day farm

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Soils, Ag Business, Biology or other science-related degree.
• Experience in Agriculture industry and agronomy concepts preferred; knowledge of chemicals and planning is a plus.
• Certified Crop Advisor or ability to become certified preferred.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and basic computer skills.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varying climates.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Farm Supervisor and Innovation Farm Staff in planning, implementing and data collection of field trials and demonstrations.
• Organize and facilitate field days, grower meetings, post-harvest meetings, training, etc.
• Manage and compile data including plot data, seed matrix, etc. for Marketing formats.
• Evaluate product knowledge and share local observations with product development team as the expert on Dyna-Gro products.
• Coordinate third-party testing and assist in product selection for yield and demo plots.
• Strengthen customer engagement by promoting profitable and sustainable initiatives.
• Collaborate with Regional Agronomy Managers, Precision Ag Lead, Seeds Agronomist, and Loveland Sales Managers to implement trials for local sales.
• Collaborate with Division leadership and Crop Consultants to understand sales support challenges.
• Perform branch level duties during rotations including delivery, warehousing, soil sampling, crop scouting and other operations.
• Participate in New Grad Program seminars and development activities.
• Model safety as a core value and contribute to a safe work environment.
