Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc., a CRH Company, seeks a skilled Equipment and Machine Operator to control and operate the screed on an asphalt paving machine. Prior screed operation experience, especially with Topcon 5 Electronics, is preferred.

The role involves managing material input, adjusting depths, and ensuring paving quality across projects, with attention to grades, drainage, and compaction. The position requires safety-conscious, hands-on maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Prior experience operating the Screed on an Asphalt Paving Machine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prior experience operating the Screed on an Asphalt Paving Machine preferred.
• Operator will control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine.
• Thorough understanding of paving industry aspects including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and related details.
• Operator is responsible for the equipment's efficient working condition and performs minor servicing and maintenance or refers major problems to the supervisor.
