APAC-AL, Inc. in Montgomery, AL is seeking an Asphalt Screed Operator to oversee and control the screed on an asphalt paving machine.

This highly skilled role requires maintaining proper material depth, flow, and machine performance on each pass, with emphasis on safety and productivity in roadway projects. Experience with asphalt paving, Topcon 5 electronics, and routine equipment maintenance is preferred; the ideal candidate will work with government and private sector crews to deliver quality

Qualifications

• Experience operating the Screed on an asphalt paving machine.
• Ability to read simple instructions and write basic notes.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance and refer issues to supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Prior experience operating the Screed on an Asphalt Paving Machine preferred
• Operator will control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
• The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.

This is a highly skilled position involving control and operation of the screed on an asphalt paving machine. Prior experience of actual Sceed Operation preferred. The perfect applicant will have Topcon 5 Electronics experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
