Job summary

Central Specialties, Inc. is seeking a Screed Operator to monitor the asphalt mat, ensure it meets inspector’s expectations, and aid in quality control on job sites across Minnesota and neighboring states.

Responsibilities include controlling depth and texture, operating equipment, prioritizing safety, and collaborating with the crew to deliver high-quality roadwork in outdoor environments. Travel is required and physical endurance is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Iowa.
• Strong mechanical skills and physical endurance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintains depth and slope of mat behind asphalt paver.
• Operates machine controls to manage depth and texture of the mat.
• Shovels and lutes materials as needed.
• Prioritizes safety per company and industry guidelines.
• Performs other duties as required.

As a Screed Operator the purpose of your position is to watch the mat for imperfection and making sure the asphalt mat is up to inspector’s expectations and prints.

Requirements:

• Must be able to travel throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Iowa
• Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites.
• Valid Driver’s License, preferably Class A.
• Acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Strong mechanical skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains and verifies depth and slope of mat behind asphalt paver.
• Operates electronic controls on machine to control depth and slope of mat. May occasionally operate manual controls.
• Adjusts screed to control texture and width of mat.
• Shovels and lutes materials as needed
• Prioritize safety at all times, following company and industry safety guidelines and protocols.
• Performs other tasks as needed.
