Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience operating asphalt rollers or willingness to learn.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, nights, or weekends if required.
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt rollers to compact and finish asphalt surfaces on roadways and job sites.
• Ensure proper compaction to meet project specifications for smoothness, density, and quality.
• Work closely with paving crews to maintain workflow.
• Assist crew members and supervisors to keep operations running efficiently.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain equipment and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Communicate respectfully and work together to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

C.R. Jackson is hiring an Asphalt Roller Operator to support our asphalt paving operations in Darlington, SC. In this role, you will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the high standards our teams expect. You’ll work alongside a supportive team that values safety, accountability, and doing the job right.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate asphalt rollers to compact and finish asphalt surfaces on roadways and job sites
• Ensure proper compaction to meet project specifications for smoothness, density, and quality
• Work closely with paving crews, including paver operators and laborers, to maintain workflow
• Assist crew members and supervisors to keep operations running efficiently
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
• Maintain equipment and keep work areas clean and organized
• Communicate respectfully and work together to keep operations running safely and efficiently
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods

• Ability to climb in and out of equipment safely
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions, including heat, dust, and noise
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and equipment for safety
