Job summary

APAC-Kansas, Inc., Shears Construction, a CRH Company, seeks an Asphalt Plant Operator to lead safety‑first production at our Kansas site. You will supervise plant personnel, manage daily maintenance, ensure OSHA/MSHA compliance, and mentor teammates while supporting efficient, reliable operations in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certs are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 2+ years in plant/industrial/construction setting preferred.
• Must be 18+ and able to pass background, drug screen, and physical.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety-first culture and support zero-incident goals.
• Supervise and coach plant personnel for high performance.
• Assign workloads to maximize productivity and morale.
• Ensure compliance with policies, OSHA/MSHA rules, and best practices.
• Identify issues and communicate solutions to leadership.
• Plan daily plant maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain reliability.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the facility.
• Report major maintenance or operational issues promptly.
• Onboard and mentor less-experienced teammates.
• Contribute to general labor and production duties as needed.
• Maintain reliable attendance and support team needs.
• Take on other tasks to support operational goals.
