Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company seeks a Plant Engineer for the Auto Asphalt Plant to oversee operation, maintenance, and optimization of the asphalt facility. You will manage mechanical and electrical systems, ensure equipment reliability, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

You will implement process improvements, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and support installation and commissioning of new plant equipment to boost productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; basic knowledge of asphalt finished materials and equipment capabilities.
• Minimum 2 years in batch plant operation; experience with heavy equipment preferred.
• Good math, concise communication, and computer familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture asphalt products according to mix design and jobsite specs.
• Perform pre/post shift inspections and report needed repairs.
• Operate controls to batch materials and read delivery tickets for mix design.
• Load HMA into haul trucks and supply material as needed; assist with plant repairs.
