Preferred Materials - Asphalt Division, part of CRH South Division of Companies, is a leader in the production of high-quality hot mix and warm mix asphalt. With a team of skilled contracting professionals, the division offers design-build and conventional-bid-build solutions for roadway and civil construction projects. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with offices throughout Florida, the division performs asphalt paving, grading, and related roadway services. Asphalt Plant Maintenance/Welder

This is a skilled position focused on maintaining asphalt plant equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Possess thorough mechanical knowledge of asphalt plant production and related equipment.
  • Inspect parts for damage or excessive wear.
  • Have 3-5 years of experience in asphalt plant repairs.
  • Analyze malfunctions and perform repairs.
  • Weld broken parts and structural members using stick welding processes.
  • Inspect used parts to determine dimensional changes.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Repair electrical equipment.
  • Work with plumbing and other plant functions.
  • The duties described are not exhaustive and may be supplemented.
  • Class B CDL preferred but not required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds, walk, stoop, squat, sit, kneel, and pass a physical examination.
  • Maintain reliable attendance, meet company standards, and maintain a positive attitude.
