Job summary

Preferred Materials, Inc., an affiliate of CRH Florida, is seeking a semi-skilled Asphalt Plant Maintenance/Welder to support asphalt production and plant equipment maintenance. The role involves inspecting parts, welding, repairs, and coordination with electrical and plumbing functions; a Class B CDL is preferred but not required.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, pass a physical exam, and maintain good attendance.

Qualifications

• Thorough mechanical knowledge of asphalt plant production and related equipment.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear.
• 1 - 3 years of experience in Asphalt plant repairs is a plus.
• Analyze malfunctions and repairs.
• Weld broken parts and structural members using stick welding processes.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Repairs electrical equipment.
• Works with plumbing and other functions of the plants.
• Possess a Class B CDL -preferred not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain asphalt plant equipment and perform repairs.
• Weld and inspect parts and structural components.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Inspect parts for wear, adjust devices and controls as needed.
• Coordinate with other plant systems (electrical, plumbing) for project needs.

Asphalt Plant Maintenance/Welder

This is a semi-skilled position dealing with the maintenance of an Asphalt Plant equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
