Job summary

Scotty's Contracting and Stone is seeking an Asphalt Plant Laborer to support daily operations at the plant. This role requires working outdoors in varying weather, performing general labor, site housekeeping, and basic equipment operation.

The successful candidate will focus on safety, adhere to procedures, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with flexible hours including nights and weekends. We offer competitive benefits, including health and disability coverage and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Outdoor work in extreme conditions including cold, heat and humidity.
• Flexible hours to include nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must not be afraid of heights.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
• Adhere to safety policies and use appropriate tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor and housekeeping around the asphalt plant, including shoveling and raking of aggregates (sand, gravel, stone) and asphalt.
• Assist with plant maintenance including greasing and repairs.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness of plant grounds, walkways, and work areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Assist with plant start-up, shutdown, housekeeping, greasing, and maintenance as required.
• Operate equipment such as skid steers and dump trucks (off road).
• Clean and maintain common areas such as the shop, restroom, and control room, to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
• Support plant operations by performing additional tasks as assigned by plant operator or other team members.
