Asphalt Plant Laborer/Clean Up, Paris, KY 1 (Construction)

Hinkle Contracting, LLC, a CRH company, is seeking to fill the position of Asphalt Plant Laborer/Clean Up at our facility in Paris, KY. We are part of CRH, a leading global building materials company with a rich history dating back to 1942, and operate one of Kentucky's most extensive networks of asphalt paving and production facilities.

Primary Function

This role involves general labor, equipment operation, and plant maintenance. The successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Position Requirements
  • Work effectively in a team environment with coworkers and managers.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance on plant equipment, including climbing ladders to access platforms.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as bobcats and skid steer loaders safely and efficiently.
  • Report any issues to management promptly.
  • Maintain constant awareness of surroundings, especially when backing up, using hand signals or other communication methods.
  • Assist with general labor tasks, equipment maintenance, and support the crew as needed.
  • Perform welding and fabrication duties if required.
  • Identify safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond appropriately.
  • Follow all safety policies, OSHA, and MSHA regulations.
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment with proper documentation.
  • Assist in training less experienced employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Complete a 'Fit for Work' physical.
  • Provide valid I-9 documentation.
  • Maintain a professional attitude.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work overtime and outdoors in extreme temperatures.
  • Adhere strictly to safety procedures.
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous construction experience preferred.
