Gerken Materials, Inc. is hiring an Asphalt Plant Grounds Person to support daily plant operations by keeping the work areas clean, safe, and organized. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work and wants to build practical skills in the asphalt and construction materials industry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Dependability and strong work ethic.
• Commitment to safety and quality work.
• Mechanical aptitude is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized plant environment, removing debris and materials.
• Support plant operations through material handling and site upkeep.
• Operate tools and equipment such as shovels and skid steers as needed.
• Assist with moving asphalt, aggregate, and other materials safely and efficiently.
• Support plant maintenance activities, including greasing and monitoring equipment.
• Work closely with plant operators and crew members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing ladders
