Job summary

Duit Holdings, Inc. is seeking an Asphalt Paving Foreman to lead crew operations on asphalt paving projects in Edmond, Oklahoma. You will direct workers and equipment, enforce safety standards, and ensure timely completion of projects while meeting quality specifications.

The role requires at least 5 years of asphalt paving experience, strong leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. A valid US driver’s license and physical capability to lift 50 pounds are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of asphalt paving construction experience.
  • Ability to read specifications and plans and calculate job site materials and trucking to maintain budget and efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
  • Must be able to read, speak and write in English.
  • Valid US driver’s license and ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage workers and equipment to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Ensure crew safety and public safety around the job site.
  • Train new crew members and oversee onboarding.
  • Calculate trucks needed for hauling asphalt from plant based on capacity and conditions.
  • Tour job sites to monitor progress, verify slope and material thickness, and supervise execution.
  • Supervise crew activities, study production schedules, and estimate work requirements.
  • Maintain daily time and material records for job costing.
  • Suggest improvements to methods, equipment performance, and quality.
  • Collaborate with team and maintain professional conduct at all times.
  • Handle varying duties as conditions require and work in different weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

An Asphalt Paving Foreman directs and manages workers and equipment, enforcing the company's direction, policies, procedures, safety standards, and scheduling to meet construction deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the safety of crew members and the public who may interact with job.
  • Training new crew members.
  • Calculating the number of trucks required to haul Asphalt from the plant according to vehicle capacity, traffic conditions, distance from work site, and productivity of drivers.
  • Touring job sites to ascertain progress in meeting time schedules, to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment, measure slope and material thickness to verify compliance with contracts, and to supervise the job.
  • Supervising and coordinating crew activities, studying production schedules, and estimating work requirements for completion of job assignment in compliance with or beating the job estimate.
  • Maintaining time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.
  • Recommends measures to improve productions methods, equipment performance, product quality, and crew performance.
  • Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times.
  • Perform a variety of tasks and duties that may change often as the work conditions require.
  • Work within defined standards of accuracy.
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions, including temperatures over 85 degrees and below 40 degrees.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction of Asphalt paving.
  • Technical skills in concrete paving and compaction operations.
  • Must be able to read specifications and plans and calculate job site materials and trucking to maintain budget and job efficiency.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work as a team to efficiently complete jobs to the highest customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Effective Leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license issued within the United States clear of multiple and/or major violations.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to see and hear well (naturally or with correction.)
  • Ability to use arms and hand to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
  • Ability to perform frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
