C.R. Jackson, Inc. is seeking a Milling Machine Operator / Trainee to support our Darlington milling operations. You’ll assist with removing old asphalt, learn on a cold planer, and work with an experienced team focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.

We value dependability, willingness to travel within South Carolina, and the ability to follow directions. Training and advancement opportunities are available for the right person.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to travel throughout SC.
• Safety-focused; able to pass background/drug screening.
• Willingness to work overtime, nights and weekends.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate or assist in operating a cold planer (milling machine).
• Learn milling equipment operation from experienced team members.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Monitor milling depth, grade, and material removal to project specs.
• Work with ground crews, truck drivers, and supervisors to maintain efficiency.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
