Job Description

The Milling Machine Operator operates equipment used for milling and removing existing asphalt to prepare the surface for new asphalt.

Job Duties

1. Responsible for control and operation of the milling machine.
2. Operates milling machine to properly mill asphalt to desired specifications based on usage.
3. Manipulates hand or foot levers to control movements of the milling machine that mills asphalt on roadways and related surfaces such as parking lots and streets.
4. Performs preventive maintenance on milling machinery as needed.
5. Ensures the equipment is in good working condition, performing minor servicing and maintenance, and referring major problems to the Foreman or Superintendent.
6. Performs any other duties assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent, or specific work-related experience.
