Job summary

Terradyne Engineering is seeking an Asphalt Lab Technician to support material testing for road construction projects in the Euless area. You will collect samples from plants or sites, run binder and mixture tests, and prepare samples for analysis, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with project specs.

Responsibilities include communicating results to the Lab Manager, maintaining equipment, and generating reports for engineers and project managers.

Qualifications

• 1A Certification is required and must be valid.
• Familiarity with lab equipment and basic computer use is needed.
• Physically capable of handling materials and standing for long periods.
• Good time management and attention to details are essential.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and QC docs.

• Assist with troubleshooting material performance issues.
• Follow safety and quality control procedures.
• Promote a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Job Responsibilities

• Communicating test status and results to Lab Manager

• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
• Adhering to deadlines
• Ability to be flexible during peak times
• Promoting a safe work environment and maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Assisting with AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) proficiency testing as required
• Great attention to detail is required
• Reporting any issues to the supervisor/manager
• Any other task requested by the supervisor/ manager

• Industry certifications required:
• 1A (Required)
• Familiarity with lab equipment and computers
• Physical ability to handle materials and stand for long periods
• Love and enjoy working indoors/outdoors.

• Excellent time management skills.
• Always adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures
• Understanding the importance of QC (Quality Control) in the laboratory.
• Must be a self-starter, reliable, and come with a good and humble attitude

• Strong teamwork, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills such as Word and Excel.
• Basic Math knowledge.
• Clean MVR, background, and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Available to work long hours and weekends
• Tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager
