The Sunrock Group is seeking an Asphalt Distributor Operator to operate and maintain an asphalt distributor truck on North Carolina projects and support paving crews on highways and roadways.

This field-based CDL driving role requires experience with construction trucking or heavy equipment, and the ability to work long shifts in outdoor environments, with OSHA safety standards guiding all tasks. Overtime is available.

Formación

• Valid Class B CDL required.
• Experience operating construction trucks or heavy equipment.
• Ability to work long shifts (8–14 hours) outdoors.
• Ability to work in outdoor construction environments.

Responsabilidades

• Operate an asphalt distributor truck safely and efficiently.
• Apply liquid asphalt / tack coat / emulsion to road surfaces.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Complete required DOT and company safety reports.
• Conduct basic truck maintenance (greasing, fluid checks, upkeep).
• Follow OSHA, MSHA, and company safety standards.
• Support paving crew operations when distributor is not in use.

Position Summary:

Sunrock is hiring an Asphalt Distributor Operator to operate and maintain an asphalt distributor truck used in road construction, paving, and heavy civil projects. This role is essential to the paving crew and involves spraying asphalt tack coat, seal coat, and liquid asphalt materials on highways, roadways, and construction sites.

This is a hands-on, field-based CDL driving role for someone experienced in construction trucking, paving operations, or heavy equipment operation.

• Operate an asphalt distributor truck safely and efficiently
• Apply liquid asphalt / tack coat / emulsion to road surfaces
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Complete required DOT and company safety reports
• Conduct basic truck maintenance (greasing, fluid checks, upkeep)
• Follow OSHA, MSHA, and company safety standards
• Support paving crew operations when distributor is not in use

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Class B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
• Experience operating construction trucks or heavy equipment
• Ability to work long shifts (8–14 hours)
• Ability to work in outdoor construction environments

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

• Road construction or paving crews
• Seal coat / tack coat application
• Heavy civil construction
• Highway or DOT project work

Physical & Work Environment:

This is a physically active construction job that includes:

• Standing, climbing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Working around heavy machinery
• Exposure to weather, noise, dust, and vibration
