Position: Asphalt Distributor Truck Driver (CDL A with Tankers REQUIRED)

Type: Full-Time

Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company, is seeking an Asphalt Distributor Truck Driver to operate and drive a truck, applying tack coat to roadways ahead of the paving crew.

General Responsibilities:

• Operate company vehicles responsibly.
• Drive and operate an asphalt distributor, applying emulsions to roadways, which are then covered by a chip spreader.
• Perform pre- and post-shift safety inspections.
• Understand machine settings and perform daily safety checks of fluid levels and inspect for leaks and damage.
• Conduct daily and preventative maintenance such as greasing and cleaning tanks and spray bars.
• Perform a variety of tasks, switching between tasks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Required: CDL-A or B with N-tanker endorsement and a clean driving record. Hazmat endorsement (X) is a plus.
• Pass background check, DOT drug screen, and DOT physical.
• Willingness to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
• Adhere to safety procedures.
• Ability to work with substances like oil, grease, gasoline, diesel, and asphalt.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and overtime as project demands.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Follow paving procedures and instructions accurately.
• Ability to adjust spray bars and control flow of materials.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant physical effort, including standing and sitting.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb in/out of trucks or equipment.
• Lift/carry 10-50 pounds regularly.
• Manual dexterity for operating tools and controls.
• Maintain alertness to multiple activities and safety hazards on site.
• Work environment may include noise and dust typical of road construction.
