Job summary

The Scruggs Company in Georgia is seeking an experienced Asphalt Distributor Operator (Tack Truck Driver) to support road construction projects. You will load, spray and ensure even distribution of tack material on road surfaces while maintaining equipment and safety standards.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of related experience, a valid CDL Class A or B with tanker endorsement and a current DOT medical card. Willingness to work rotating shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in asphalt distribution or related field.
• CDL Class A or B with tanker/hazmat endorsement.
• Proof of current DOT physical.
• Able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.
• Must meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Georgia CDL driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
• Load, unload and operate distributor.
• Drive and operate distributor truck to spray tack or primer on road surfaces while ensuring uniform distribution of material.
• Maintain solid understanding of the paving industry.
• The operator is responsible for the equipment’s efficient working condition and may perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screed extensions.
